Jack Stream

May 4, 1923 — July 19, 2010

Dr. Jack Porter Stream, the son of Harry F. and Alice Lydia (Porter) Stream, was born on May 4, 1923, at Galesburg, Illinois. Jack entered eternal rest on July 19, 2010, at Greater Regional Hospice Home, Creston, Iowa, at the age of eighty-seven years, two months, and seventeen days.
Jack lived all of his life in Creston. He graduated from Creston High School with the Class of 1941. Jack served in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theatre from 1943-1946. On February 18, 1946 he married Lorraine Owen in El Paso, Texas. Jack attended the University of Nebraska, in Lincoln for 3 1/2 years, and graduated from Iowa State University in 1951 with a Doctor of Veterinary Science Degree. Jack returned from college and began working in 1951, then went into a partnership with Dr. Les Edrington. Together, they built the Creston Veterinary Clinic on Townline Road. Jack practiced veterinary medicine in Creston from 1951 until 1990.
Jack served as Secretary/Treasurer of Southwest Iowa Veterinary Association; President of Southwest Iowa Veterinary Association; Advisory Committee of Iowa State University School of Veterinary Medicine; Member and President of the Creston School Board; Past-President of Crestmoor Golf Club; Member and President of Kiwanis; and Member of the Elks Club and Eagles Lodge.
Left to cherish Jacks memory is his wife, Lorraine Stream, Creston; his daughters: Cheryl (husband Loren) Fauver, Reno, NV; and Vicki (husband Jim) Lippold, Lincoln, NE; his sons: Steven (wife Jeannie) Stream, Rossville, IL; and Scott Stream, Incline Village, NV; eight grandchildren: Bree Chaplin; Bryce Fauver; Josh Stream; Janessa Graves; Austin Pushcar; Callie Stream; Ciara Lambertson; and Jordan Stream; and two great-granddaughters: Makenna and Makayla Fauver.
Preceding Jack in death were his parents; and grandparents, Frank and Matilda Stream, who raised Jack.
