Jacqueline Elaine Moon was born to Gladys (Kalkas) and James Earl Whitehill on July 26, 1921, in Shenandoah, Iowa. Jacqueline entered eternal rest on May 29, 2006, at Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston, Iowa, at the age of eighty-four years, ten months, and three days.
Jacqueline attended school in Mahasha, WI. On January 6, 1942, she married John William Moon in Kansas City, Missouri. This marriage was blessed with two children, Ronald and Sharon.
Jacqueline lived most of her life in the Afton and Creston area. She worked with her husband at the locker in Afton, which they owned. In 1967, she began work as an assistant in the physical therapy department at the Creston Hospital. She retired as the Department Supervisor in 1983.
When her health permitted, Jacqueline was a member of the Swinging Seniors Music Group; attended the First Presbyterian Church; and was actively involved with the activities at the Congregate Meal Site and at Summit House. She actively participated in her children and grandchildrens activities. Jacqueline had spent the previous five (of six) years wintering in Texas to be near her son.
Jacqueline was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John on November 25, 2000; one Brother: James Whitehill; and two Sisters: Juanita Wight and Jane Rentle.
Left to mourn Jacquelines death are her son: Ronald (wife Hallie) Moon, Harlingen, TX; daughter: Sharon (husband Robert) Eklund, Afton; five Grandchildren: Lori Springob, Harlingen, TX; Rodney (wife Wendy) Moon, Bowie, MD; Teresa (husband Brian) Cose, Dubuque; Eric Eklund, Afton; Carl (wife Lindsay) Eklund, Shannon City; Seven Great-Grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
