She was a legal secretary for her father. Jan was in Delta Gamma Sorority and graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois with a degree in Secretarial Science.
In 1946, Jan married Robert L. Wykoff and they later divorced. In 1956 she married Donald P. Reeves and they also divorced. She was a devoted and loving Mother to three children and proud grandmother to two beautiful granddaughters.
Jan is survived by her children: Wendy (Mrs. Sweetheart) Cooley and her husband Wayne of Clive, Iowa; Ben (Beloved) Reeves and his wife Elizabeth, and their daughters Alyson and Alaina of Platteville, Wisconsin; and Jay (Norma Jean/Sweet Doll) Hughes and her husband Mark of Omaha, Nebraska.
Jan is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Ella; her sisters: Mary Ann Degenhardt and Barbara Myneder; her ex-husbands: Robert L. Wykoff and Donald Reeves, and many friends.
Janets family wish to thank all of her caring and attentive caregivers for all the tender loving care delivered to her by Merry Ann Swank and her “girls” (with special mention to Bev Haley) at her home in Autumn House in Creston the last several years. We also wish to thank the staff of Risen Son and Asera Hospice for their care the last several months, with special mention to Deb and Ashley and Terri who were with Janet and Jay when Janet passed away.
Janet will be remembered by all who knew her as a kind and gentle soul, who always put others before herself, and whose strong faith in God and His Goodness helped her daily. Her family and friends will miss her terribly, but find comfort in knowing she is reunited with her family and friends in Heaven.
