Janice Margaret Schroeder was born to Vivian Margaret (Landstrom) and George James “Jim” Anstey on June 18, 1931, at Massena, Iowa. Janice entered eternal rest on August 24, 2006, at the Villisca Good Samaritan Center at the age of seventy-five years, two months, and eight days.
Janice graduated from Massena High School with the class of 1949; Graduated from Ottumwa Heights College as a teacher. On December 26, 1950, she married Ed Amdor at Cumberland, Iowa. They later divorced. On April 26, 1976, she married Neil Roland Schroeder at the United Church of Christ in Des Moines.
Janice has lived in Walnut, and Cromwell, and all over the state of Iowa. She moved to Creston in 1993. Janice taught school in Massena for a few years. She worked as an insurance secretary in Massena and also as a clerk for the Massena Livestock Auction. Janice was a homemaker most of her life. She also worked as a greeter at Walmart.
Janice was a member of the U.C.C. Ladies Aide in Cromwell; Massena VFW Auxiliary; Guild Member Villisca Rialto Theatre; Supporter of Breast Cancer Awareness, Relay for Life and American Parkinsons Disease Association, Iowa Chapter.
Preceding Janice in death were her Parents; Husband, Neil Schroeder in 2003; Two Brothers: George J. Anstey; Norman Louis Anstey; Mother-in-Law: Vivian Schroeder.
Left to mourn Janices passing are her children: Ben (Della) Amdor, Osceola; Carol (Doug) Hardisty, Corning; Kathy (John) Elliott, Albia, IA; Laurie (Danny) Redding, Leighton, IA; Marc (Joy) Schroeder, Mt. Vernon, IL, Brenda Abbott, Arlington, TX, Sheryl Abriola, Springfield, OH; Seventeen Grandchildren; Nine Great-Grandchildren; her brothers: Bill (Sharon) Anstey, Chariton, IA; Lloyd (Cheryl) Anstey, Calleyville, TX; her sisters-in-law: Jackie Anstey, Omaha, NE; Marilyn Lee, Creston; Beverly McNally, Fredericksburg, IA; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
