J.C. “Jack” Morrison was born in Massena, Iowa, July 4, 1915 to parents, John Martin and Margaret Martha (Clinton) Morrison. Jack entered eternal rest on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Amelia House in Council Bluffs, Iowa at the age of 92 years, 7 months and 20 days.
Jack was united in marriage to Mary Cecilia Ury on August 16, 1941 in Burbank, California. To this blessed union 7 children were born: Bill, Connie, Tom, Monica, Jody, Colleen and Matt. Jack and Mary have resided in Corning, Iowa since 1950. Prior to 1950 the family lived on a farm in Massena.
Jack was a grain and livestock farmer most of his life. He also owned a successful fertilizer business for 30 years.
Jack was a life-time member of St. Patricks Catholic Church in Corning, Iowa. Jack was also a member of Happy Hollow Country Club for many years, Knights of Columbus and the Adams County Soil Conservation. Jack was given an award from Iowa Master Corn Growers Association.
Jack is survived by his Wife: Mary Morrison of Corning, Iowa; Children: Bill (Wife Kathy) Morrison of Corning, Iowa, Connie (Husband Bill) Russell of Anita, Iowa, Tom (Wife Maria) Morrison of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Monica (Husband Jim) Hughes of Glenwood, Iowa, Jody (Husband Mike) Hughes of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Colleen “Peppy” Wooters of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Matt (Wife Diane) Morrison of Corning, Iowa; twenty-two Grandchildren; thirty Great Grandchildren; one Great-Great Granddaughter; Sister-in-law: Helen Morrison of Omaha, Nebraska; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his Parents, Two Brothers; Perry and Robert Morrison; One Sister; Grace Taylor and Grandson Jeff Kresnik.
