Jennifer Anne Coen, 41, of Creston died Monday, February 3, 2014 at her home in Creston. Mass of Christian Burial Services will be 11:00 A.M., Thursday, February 6, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Creston. Father Kenneth Halbur, Jr. will officiate. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Creston. Open Visitation will be from 1:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday, February 5th at Pearson Family Funeral Service, 809 W. Montgomery St., Creston. Family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Wednesday evening and a Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Jennifer Anne Coen, the daughter of Mike and Kate Coen, was born on September 28, 1972 in Spencer, Iowa. Jennifer was baptized and was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Jennifer was active in whatever was going on: all the sports; horseback riding; school musicals and school plays; and playing the flute. But dance was her true love. Jennifer never met a stranger.
Left to cherish Jennifer’s memory are her parents, Mike and Kate Coen, Creston; her brothers: Brian (Katie) Coen, Johnston, IA; and John (Jacque) Coen, West Des Moines, IA; her grandmother Dora Coen, Creston; her nieces and nephews: Jack, Brooklyn, Charlie, Hudson, Addie, and Maddox; her aunts: Connie (Dennis) Purdum, Creston; Julee Cruise and husband Edward Grinnan, New York, NY; and Meg (Clarke) McGrath, Harlan, IA; her uncles: Dan (Connie) Coen, Creston; Craig (Linda) Coen, Oskaloosa, IA; Bruce (Diane) Coen, Helena, MT; Chris (Cindy) Coen; Indianola, IA; and Tony (Kay) Cruise, Omaha, NE.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her grandparents: Jack and Wilma Cruise; her grandfather, John Coen; her sister, Jill Coen on February 27, 1986; her uncle, Mick Cruise; and her cousin, Benjamin McGrath.
