Jessie Eleanor Krauth

Jessie Eleanor (Roberts) Krauth was born to Steven and Elsie Elizabeth (Powell) Roberts on November 27, 1921. She attended Adams County Rural Elementary School and graduated from Corning High School with the class of 1940.
Jessie married E. Roy Krauth in 1941. To this union, five children were born: Judith Stout, Tulsa, Oklahoma; Dennis Krauth, Boone, Iowa; Douglas Krauth, Storm Lake, Iowa; David Krauth, Prescott, Iowa; and Nan Knapp, Austin, Texas.
She had sixteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Jessie enjoyed multiple interests throughout her life. Among those interests were gardening, golf, playing bridge, macramaing, and various other crafts. She enjoyed providing for her family and friends.
She established the Krauth Nursing Home at a rural resident in 1950. It was moved to Corning in 1958 and closed in 1978.
