Joyce Roshto

Joyce Marie Roshto, the daughter of Joseph Melvin and Sally Lee (Simpson) Hazel, was born May 4, 1937, Columbus, Mississippi. Joyce entered eternal rest April 19, 2016, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa at the age of seventy-eight years, eleven months, and fifteen days.
On December 24, 1955, Joyce married James “Jimmy” Roshto, Sr. in Woodville, Mississippi. Joyce was a homemaker until all of her children were raised. She worked outside the home gathering eggs in a chicken house containing over one million chickens in Mena, Arkansas. Joyce and Jimmy lived in many different places over the years. They moved from Arkansas to Nodaway, Iowa where they lived for ten years. They lived in Osceola for about two years, and Joyce has lived in Corning the last three months.
Joyce worked hard all her life and enjoyed fishing when she wasn’t working. She was affiliated with the Osceola Full Gospel Church.
Left to cherish Joyce’s memory are her children: Eva (Maurice) Austin, Osceola; Liz Brassfield, Bono, AR; Garie Holland, Osceola; James (Heather) Roshto, Jr., Villisca; Deanne (Jeff) Stacy, Huntsville, AR; David (Amber) Roshto, Jonesboro, AR; Maurice (Kim) Roshto, Wesley, AR; Joe (Jennifer) Roshto, Bono, AR; and Brandon (Brittney) Roshto, New Albany, MS; Several Grandchildren and numerous Great-Grandchildren; her brother Gene (Mary) Hazel, Newellton, LA; her sister Frances Tapley, Natchez, MS; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceding Joyce in death was her husband, Jimmy in July, 2015; her son, James Anthony Roshto; her parents; four sisters; two brothers; and her brother-in-law, Doyle Tapley.
