Judy Allen

September 10, 1949 — May 9, 2010

Judy Kay Allen, the daughter of Lester Harold and Nina Muriel (Young) McDowell, was born on September 10, 1949, in Creston, Iowa. Judy entered eternal rest on May 9, 2010, at the Colonial Manor in Anita, Iowa, at the age of sixty years.
Judy graduated from Creston High School and lived most of her life in Creston. In June, 1965, she married Andy Allen and this union was blessed with two daughters, Debbie and Brenda. Andy and Judy later divorced. Years later, Judys third daughter, Wendy, was born.
Judy worked at Greater Community Hospital for several years. She began in the Coffee Shop, then worked as a switchboard operator, then worked in the X-ray Department. Judy attended S.W.C.C.s nursing program and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in various nursing homes. In August, 2009, Judy moved to be near her daughter due to her ill health and disability.
Judy loved flowers, plants, and animals. She was especially fond of frogs and turtles. Mowing the lawn on her John Deere lawn tractor was one of Judys favorite things to do. She was also known to mow her neighbors lawn. She enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends; and loved to dance.
