Julie Stewart

March 27, 1959 — March 28, 2017

Julie Ann Stewart, the daughter of Walter Alen England and Joyce Lillian (Buzzard) England, was born March 27, 1959 in Red Oak, Iowa. She was raised in Red Oak until her family moved to Creston when Julie was 12 years old. She was educated in both the Red Oak and Creston Public Schools. Julie married Rodney Wayne Abell and the couple later divorced. Having lived the majority of her life in Creston, Julie has resided in Lorimor since May of 1998.
Julie worked in Creston at Ferrara Candy Company and Wellman Dynamics for several years. Due to her declining health, she was unable to work and became a homemaker. Julie was a terrific cook and loved being around her family, especially during Thanksgiving and Christmas. She was always a “giver” and gave until she could give no more. She was affectionately known as “Grandma” to many kids. Julie loved camping and her hobbies included collecting Barbie dolls and Pez candy. She had a large collection of both.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Lori Stone and Sara Mark.
Left to cherish Julie’s memory is her husband, Larry Smith of Lorimor; her daughter, Hidie (husband, William) Lemon of Osceola; her son, Adam (wife, Tonya) Abell of Creston; her step-daughter, Elizabeth McCall (significant other, Ray Lewis) of West Virginia; and her step-son, Charles (wife, Desiree) Abell of Orient; her six grandchildren: Dakota Brown, Brittany Kuhn, Wyatt Brown, Gavyn Abell, Logan Abell, Addison Abell; and her five great-grandchildren: Sophia Kuhn, Kadon Kuhn, Bentley Kuhn, Camdyn Gibson, Lilly Brown. Julie is also survived by three sisters: Rainee England of Lorimor, Susan (husband, Matt) Miller of Des Moines, and Shelly England of Creston; Brother-in-law, Michael Mark of Creston and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
