Kenneth Dean Bradley, the son of John Francis and Alma Clara-Susan (Ohlschleger) Bradley, was born in Creston on October 12, 1931. He was welcomed home by his two brothers: Theodore and Eugene and his sister, June. Kenneth received his education in Creston, graduating from Creston High School with the Class of 1949. A couple of years later, Kenneth enlisted in the United States Navy in 1951, during the Korean Conflict. He served his country for 4 years and was Honorably discharged in 1955. Following his discharge, Kenny returned to the states and settled in Boise, Idaho where he worked several years for Foster Sheet Metal. While in Idaho, Kenny met Colleen Allman and the couple was married in Winnemucca, Nevada on July 13, 1960. Together, the couple was blessed with 8 children. In 1965, the family returned to Creston and Kenny purchased a building and began his business, Bradley Heating Cooling. Kenneth was a hard-working man and always made him-self available any time, day or night, to work on a furnace. In the early 1970’s, Kenny also worked for Burlington Northern for several years. He had other skills too, working as a carpet layer and carpenter. Kenny built several homes and remodeled many. When he retired, Kenneth and Colleen moved to Grant City, Missouri and began a small farming operation and loved tending to his large vegetable garden.
Due to declining health, the couple returned to Creston in 2005 and Colleen preceded Kenneth in death on August 14, 2007. The last 12 years Kenneth resided at Creston Specialty Care.
