L. J. Brownrigg

LeRoy Jefferson “Bud” Brownrigg, the son of Frank and Dorthy (Looney) Hatten, was born on February 17, 1926, in Adams County near Williamson. He was later adopted by William “Bill” Brownrigg, Sr. Bud entered eternal rest on April 28, 2007, at Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston, Iowa, at the age of eighty-one years, two months and eleven days.
Bud graduated from Cromwell High School with the Class of 1943. On September 23, 1944, he married Emma Geraldine Mullin in Creston, Iowa. To this union, six children were born.
Bud farmed southeast of Creston for over thirty years. Bud worked for the Farmers Coop for many years and he also was a salesman for Philco Seed for a few years. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and the Elks Lodge in Creston.
Preceding Bud in death were his parents; wife, “Jerry”, in July, 2006; Brother, Joe Brownrigg; and Granddaughter, Allison Freihage.
Left to mourn Buds passing are his children: Gary (wife Sandee) Brownrigg, Creston; Gloria (husband Joe) Wright, Panora, IA; Linda (husband George) Bailey, Clearfield; Sharon (husband Gail) Freihage, Prescott; Randy (wife Sandy) Brownrigg, Ankeny; Angie (husband Mark) Vicker, Creston; fourteen Grandchildren; fifteen Great-Grandchildren; Brother: Bill (wife Virginia) Brownrigg, Cromwell; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
