Ladonna M. Mclandsborough

LaDonna M. McLandsborough, the daughter of Harold Swan and Carrie Mae (Corneilson) Stone, was born on November 8, 1929, at Thayer, Iowa. LaDonna entered eternal rest on April 24, 2009, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of seventy-nine.
LaDonna was raised in Afton, Iowa. She graduated from Afton High School in 1948. On April 30, 1948 she married Don W. Schuler and they moved to Creston. Don passed away in 1968. LaDonna married John Davis McLandsborough in 1980, and John passed away May 17, 2006.
LaDonna worked as a bookkeeper for J.C. Penney from 1950 until about 1965. She started working at Bunnomatic when it opened in 1977, and continued working at Bunn for nearly twenty years. LaDonna retired November 11, 1994. LaDonna has owned and operated McLandsborough Mini-Storage for the past fifteen years.
LaDonna was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a former member of Eastern Star. The last fifteen years, LaDonna and John wintered in Winter Ranch Park in Alamo, Texas, where she was an active volunteer.
Left to cherish LaDonnas memory are her daughter, Carrie Schuler and husband Terry Wetzsteon of Scottsdale, Arizona; her sister, Greta “Mickey” (husband Dan) Rutledge of Creston, Iowa; and her nephew, Zeb (wife Cara) Rutledge of Grinnell, Iowa.
Preceding LaDonna in death were her parents; both husbands; and her brother, Marvin Harold Stone.
