Lauren L. Wilson

Burial will be at the Graceland Cemetery with Military Honors by Theodore J. Martens VFW Post #1797. Memorials may be directed to the Diabetes Association and/or St. Malachy School.
Lauren Le Roy Wilson, the son of Harry Rowland and Mildred Marie (Keim) Wilson, was born on November 22, 1919, in Shannon City, Iowa. Lauren entered eternal rest on June 28, 2007, at the Greater Regional Medical Center, at the age of eighty-seven years, seven months, and six days.
Lauren lived in Creston most of his life. He also lived in Tyler, Texas, and Mt. Ayr, Iowa. Lauren graduated from Arispe High School with the Class of 1939. He served in the United States Army during WWII from October 14, 1941 until his discharge on October 25, 1945.
Lauren married Peggy Cavender in Mt. Ayr, Iowa. Peggy passed away in November, 1986. On June 10, 1988, he married Marie Moon at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Creston, Iowa.
Lauren worked in a body shop in Tyler, TX, upon his return from the military. He worked at the Chevrolet dealer in Mount Ayr. Lauren also owned and operated his own body shop (Wilson Body Shop) in Mount Ayr. After that he worked for Kerr-Cochran Chevrolet as a body repairman.
Lauren was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Left to mourn Laurens passing are his wife: Marie Wilson, Creston; his step-sons: Ted Moon, Creston and Richard Moon, Denver, CO; his step-daughters: Jane E. Brown, Creston, Kim (Rick) Shelton, Granbury, TX; and Camille Moon, Creston; his step-daughter-in-law: Elaine Moon-Hines; his brothers: Duane Wilson, Creston and Wendell (Lucille) Wilson, Afton; his sister: Viva Tuttle, Brush, CO; Eleven Step-Grandchildren; Sixteen Step-Great-Grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Preceding Lauren in death were his parents, his first wife, Peggy in 1986, his step-son: Michael Moon; his step-son-in-law: Det Brown; and Brother-in-law: Donald Tuttle.
