Laurene Seley

July 18, 1919 — December 7, 2010

Eiffel Laurene Seley, the daughter of Herman S. and Enola Glea (Stroup) White, was born on July 18, 1919, in Thayer, Iowa. Laurene entered eternal rest on December 7, 2010, at the Mitchell Village, Mitchellville, Iowa, at the age of ninety-one years.
Laurene graduated from Thayer High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Afton Coop before her marriage. On January 16, 1944, Laurene married Cleve Hosier Seley in Afton, Iowa. Their marriage was blessed with three daughters: Janet, Judy, and Lana. Laurene worked along side Cleve on their farm all of her married life. She was a farm wife and a homemaker. Laurene moved to Mitchellville about four years ago.
Laurene was a long time active member of the Creston United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Kent Study Club.
Left to cherish Laurenes memory are her daughters: Janet K. Fife-LaFrenz (husband Charlie), Keokuk, Iowa; Judy (husband Dennis) McClure, Center Point, Iowa; and Lana (husband Gary) Parrott, Altoona, Iowa; her seven grandchildren; her ten great-grandchildren; her sister: Sodie (husband Donald) Widener, Creston; her sisters-in-law: Betty White, Creston; and Eva White, Torrington, Wyoming; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding Laurene in death were her parents; her husband, Cleve in 2002; and her brothers: Lyle and Lowell White.
