Leonard R. Allen

Leonard Ray Allen, the son of Benjamin Franklin and Carrie Ann (Cavitt) Allen, was born on May 1, 1917, at the home of his Grandparents west of Mt. Zion near Prescott, Iowa. Leonard entered eternal rest on June 20, 2008, at the Crest Haven Care Centre in Creston, Iowa, at the age of ninety-one years, one month and nineteen days.
Leonard served in the United States Army during World War II from May 5, 1942 until he was honorably discharged on November 15, 1945. On February 14, 1950, he married Elvina Bell Wyllie in Minnesota.
Leonard lived in the Prescott, Iowa, area for most of his life. He farmed in Adams County and also trimmed trees.
Left to cherish Leonards memory are his nieces: Wanda (Larry) Buckner, Adair; Kay (Larry) Witt, Thayer; Juanita Eggert (Special Friend, Jerry Skellberg), Red Oak; Colleen (Ken) Brown, Stanton, and Sharlene Hartman, Iowa City, IA; Nephew: Dean Johnson, Adair; Special Friend: Barbara Perry, Prescott; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, and other relatives.
Preceding Leonard in death were his Parents; his Wife, Elvina, in November 1970; his Son, Billy Dean Allen, in November 1950; and Sister: Pauline (in infancy).
