Linda Smith

Linda Lou Smith, the daughter of Lonnie Dow and Leota (Heath) Purscell, was born on January 28, 1948 in Iowa City, Iowa. Linda entered eternal rest on July 5, 2014 at the Greater Regional Hospice Home, Creston, Iowa at the age of sixty-six years.
Linda lived in Winterset until moving to Creston in 1979. On April 10, 1979, she married Bernard Alan Smith at Macksburg, Iowa. Linda delivered papers for the Creston News Advertiser for three years. She worked for Innovative Industries for a short time and also worked as a cook at CrestHaven Care Centre for four years. Linda spent most of her life as a homemaker and raising her family. Linda was a member of the United Church of Christ-Congregational. She enjoyed arts and crafts.
Left to cherish Linda’s memory are her husband, Bernard Smith, Creston; her sons: Larry (Julie) Smith, Lorimor, IA; Thomas (Dee) Smith, Branson, MO; and Allen Auxier, Panora, IA; her daughter: Bridgett (Brad) Purscell, Creston; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her brothers: Lenard (Glenice) Purscell, Winterset, IA; Leon (Joy) Purscell, Altoona, IA; and Lester (Jennie) Purscell, Earlham, IA; her sisters: Loretta (Fred) Solt, Lorimor, IA; Lavonne (Dean) Jacobe, Van Wert, IA; and Lois (Mike) Giles, Riverview, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Preceding Linda in death were her parents; her son, Brian Smith; her daughter, Pam Harper; and her brothers Lorn, Lavern and Laurel.
