Lois Perez Gourd

Lois Evelyn Gourd, the daughter of Mary Ruth (Strain) and Homer Hollis Wainwright, was born on February 20, 1928 in Nodaway, Iowa. Lois entered eternal rest on April 22, 2006, at her residence, at the age of seventy-eight years, two months and two days.
Lois Wainwright and Ronald Jesse Gourd were united in marriage on August 26, 1953 in Creston, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Mary and Jess.
Lois and Jesse lived in California from 1958 until 2000. While in California she worked as a fry cook and worked for CTS Keenes Electronics in quality control. She also worked for Union Carbide in Red Oak for 5 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2005; three brothers in infancy, one adult brother, and one sister.
Lois is survived by her daughter: Mary Leal of Corning, Iowa, son: Jess R. Gourd of Corning, Iowa; eight grandchildren; brothers: Albert (Mary Ellen) Wainwright of Seneca, Oregon; Harold Wainwright of Oregon; Bill (Eileen) Wainwright of Wasco, Oregon; sisters: Annie (Mac) McClelland of Portland, Oregon; Alice (Lou) Ruby of Redmond, Oregon; Dutch Wainwright McKinley Coy of Villisca, Iowa; Kate Worttle of Oregon and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
