Loren R. Neill

Burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery in Adams County with Military Honors by OURCQ Post #117, Corning American Legion. Memorials may be directed to the Creighton United Methodist Church.
Loren Ralph Neill, the son of Ralph Edward and Fern Edna (Cline) Neill, was born on January 24, 1920, near Corning, in Taylor County, Iowa. Loren entered eternal rest on November 3, 2008, at Our House Assisted Living, Austin, Minnesota, at the age of eighty-eight years, nine months, and eleven days.
Loren graduated from Corning High School with the Class of 1938. He married Virginia Ledbetter and they later divorced. He married Joy Beck on December 5, 1964 in San Diego, California.
Loren moved to San Diego, CA following high school and attended Barber School. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served during World War II from January 31, 1942 until November 6, 1945. Following his honorable discharge from the service, he returned to San Diego until moving to Arizona in 1950. He lived in Arizona until September, 2008, when he moved to Austin, MN.
Loren worked as a salesman for Imperial Company providing barber and beauty shop supplies. Following his retirement he worked for a high school in Mesa, AZ, as a teachers assistant. Loren was a member of the Creighton United Methodist Church in Phoenix, Arizona and he loved to fish.
Left to cherish Lorens memory are his children: Daniel (Shirley) Neill, Reed Point, MT; Debbie (Ruel) Burns, Manchester, TN; Two Granddaughters: Shawn Berkett and Kimberly Parks; One Grandson: Adam Neill; his sister: Leola (Cleo) Hawthorne, Creston, IA; his Niece: Patricia Vrieze, Van Meter, IA; his Nephew: Bob (Connie) Birt, Essex, IA; Special Friends: Robyn and Steve Bowen, Austin, MN; and Chris and Louise Williams; and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Preceding Loren in death were his Parents; Wife, Joy, on January 4, 1997; Infant Daughter, Sandra Lynn; and Nephew, Melvin Birt.
