Lucile M. Davis

Lucile Marie Davis, the daughter of William Everett and Jenny (Edmindston) Keever, was born on July 19, 1911, in Prescott, Iowa. Lucile entered eternal rest on March 18, 2011, at the Creston Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Creston, Iowa, at the age of ninety-nine years, seven months and twenty-seven days.
Lucile lived in Prescott all of her life. She graduated from Prescott High School, then attended Thompson Beauty School in Des Moines, Iowa. In March, 1932, Lucile married Charles Thurman Davis in Fremont, Nebraska. This union was blessed with four children: Martha, Sheryl, Carolyn, and Stephen.
Lucile worked at Darlenes Beauty Salon in Corning for thirty years. She then opened her own beauty shop in Prescott known as Luciles Beauty Salon and ran it for twenty years. Lucile was a member of the Prescott United Church Disciples of Christ. She loved tending to her flowers, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was an Iowa Hawkeye Basketball fan.
Left to cherish Luciles memory are her daughters: Martha Barriga-Gorham, San Diego, CA; Sheryl Van Pelt, Bettendorf, IA; Carolyn Carmody (Roy Stone), Greenwood, LA; her son: Stephen (Jan) Davis, Missouri Valley, IA; her twelve grandchildren; her twenty-eight great-grandchildren; her one great-great grandchild; and one niece and one nephew.
Preceding Lucile in death were her parents; her husband; her sister, Mildred Guiberson; and four sons-in-law.
