Marcellene Mick Repplinger

October 24, 1925 — March 18, 2012

Marcellene “Mick” Repplinger, 86, of Creston died Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Creston Nursing Rehab Center, Creston, Iowa. Mass of Christian Burial Services will be 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, March 21, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Creston, Father Joseph Pins will officiate. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Creston. Open Visitation will be from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 20 at Pearson Family Funeral Service, 809 W. Montgomery St., Creston, Family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 P.M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Rosary will be said at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday evening. Memorials may be directed to the family in Marcellene’s name. Marcellene May “Mick” Repplinger, the daughter of James and Etta (Todden) Browns, was born on October 24, 1925, in Murray, Iowa. Mick graduated from Murray High School and earned a Certificate of Teaching at Simpson College. On February 2, 1946, she married Herman E. Repplinger at Osceola, Iowa.
Mick worked as a dispatcher in the service department for Montgomery Ward and she also worked for Spurgeons Department Store as a sales clerk. Mick was a homemaker. She was a terrific cook and she also dressed animals that were hunted for food. She sewed many dresses for her family. Mick and Herman moved from the farm in Shannon City to Creston in 1992.
Mick was active in Cub Scouts and was a Cub Scout leader in Murray for two years. She was a former member of the Afton VFW Auxiliary and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Left to cherish Mick’s memory is her son: James Repplinger, Fort Collins, CO; her granddaughter: Michele (Tim) Brady, Loveland, CO; her grandson: Adam (Melinda) Repplinger, Greeley, CO; Eight Great-Grandchildren; and her sister: Carolita Martin, Albuquerque, NM.
Preceding Mick in death were her parents; and her husband Herman in 2001.
