Margaret Woods

May 18, 1925 — September 25, 2011

Margaret Luella Woods, the daughter of Nicholas and Mary (Brownrigg) Repplinger, was born on May 18, 1925, near Creston in Adams County, Iowa. Margaret entered eternal rest on September 25, 2011, at the Afton Care Center, Afton, Iowa, at the age of eighty-six years. Margarets family sends a very special thank you for the warm and caring staff at the Afton Care Center.
Margaret lived in the Creston area all of her life. She graduated from Nevinville High School, and received a two year teaching certificate from Creston Junior College.
On September 30, 1947, Margaret married Lyle William Woods in Creston. Margaret was a homemaker and farm wife who was devoted to her husband and family. Margaret lived on the same farm for 70 years.
Margaret was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and St. Anns Altar Society. She was an honorary 4-H member and Past President of the PTA when her children were young. Margaret liked to play cards with the neighbors. She enjoyed fishing, reading, and tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. Margaret and Lyle bowled together for many years.
Left to cherish Margarets memory are her daughter: Barb Woods, Mequon, WI; her son: Gayle Woods, Clemons, IA; her daughter: Charlotte (Bill) Silberg, Maplewood, New Jersey; her sons: David Woods, Denver, CO, and Tom (Allie) Woods, Creston, IA; eight grandchildren: Dawn (Mark) Pearson, Creston; Chad (Beth) Woods, Winterset; Amber (Gary) Eshelman, Greenfield; Krista (Jordan) Daggett, Ankeny; Shawna (Eric) Pence, Ankeny; Jacob Silberg, Cambridge, MA; Colby Byrn, Oakland, CA; and Kelsey (Andrew) Cole, Gilman, IA; twelve great-grandchildren; her sisters: Mary Rita Oberkamper, South Dakota; and JoAnn Moffitt, Creston; and numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Preceding Margaret in death were her parents; husband, Lyle in September, 1995; two brothers-in-law: Lloyd “Curly” Oberkamper and Cecil Moffitt.
