Marie Louise Elizabeth Bauer Lacox, 96 years, passed away on Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa. She was most recently a resident at the Villisca Good Samaritan Care Center and before that, a resident of Corning (Westgate Apartments) and Nodaway.
Marie was born on Saturday, July 26, 1913, in Fay, Oklahoma to George and Elizabeth (Moser) Bauer. She was united in marriage to Glea Lacox on April 25, 1936 in Maryville, Missouri. Glea passed away on Oct. 11, 1999, after 63 years of marriage to Marie.
She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father, George Fuhr, as well as three brothers: Alvin, Paul and Edward Bauer.
Marie is survived by many nieces and nephews and many more family members, friends and caregivers, all of whom loved her dearly.
Memorials may be directed to the family, to be decided at a later date.
