Marie Moon Wilson

Marie (Moon) Wilson, 87, of Creston, died Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M., Monday, September 10, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Father Kenneth Halbur, Jr. will officiate. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery. There will be no public viewing. Family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Sunday and Rosary will be said at 6:00 P.M. Sunday evening at Pearson Family Funeral Service, 809 W. Montgomery St., Creston. Marie Frances Wilson, the daughter of Albert George and Irene Elizabeth (Konrad) Endres, was born on April 29, 1925, at Rosemount, Iowa which is near Milo. Marie received her Teaching Certificate from Ottumwa Heights and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Northwest Missouri State University. Marie moved to Creston in 1951 and taught for Creston Public School for twenty-three years. She mostly taught 2nd and 3rd grades in the Irving School and Irving Annex. Prior to retiring, Marie taught in the Franklin School.
On August 27, 1946, Marie married Dale Laverne Moon in Rosemount, Iowa. Dale passed away in 1985. In June, 1988, Marie married Lauren Wilson at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Lauren passed away in July, 2007.
Marie spent her entire adult life in Creston. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church; the Catholic Daughters of America and CARSPA. Marie volunteered for ten years with the Appalachia Service Project and volunteered for many years at the Rectory Rerun Shop.
Left to cherish Marie’s memory are her children: Ted Moon and significant other, Sherry Drake, Creston; Jane E. Brown and significant other, David Mullin, Creston; Kimberly (Rick) Shelton, Granbury, Texas; Camille Moon and significant other, Kevin Brownlee, Creston; and Richard Moon, Denver, CO; her daughter-in-law: Elaine Moon-Hines, Chariton, IA; Eleven grandchildren; Twenty Great-Grandchildren; her four brothers: Wayne Endres, Des Moines, IA; Robert (Karen) Endres, Des Moines, IA; Ed Endres, Martinsdale, IA; and Gail (Carol) Endres, Ankeny; her two sisters: Clarice Duff, Des Moines; and Margaret Brown, Liberty, MO; her sister-in-law, Amy Endres, Indianola, IA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Preceding Marie in death were her parents; both husbands; her son, Michael; her son-in-law, Otis Brown; two brothers: John and Richard Endres; her infant sister, Edna Mae Endres; her sister-in-law: Delma Jean Endres; and two brothers-in-law: Hank Brown and Jim Duff.
