Martin Mart Miller

Martin Ray Miller, son of John “Wes” Wesley and Lucy Faye (Hill) Miller, was born on February 5, 1917 in Taylor County near Lenox, Iowa. Mart went to be with his Lord on Monday, March 12, 2012 at the age of ninety-five years, one month and seven days.
Mart was united in marriage to Catherine Bauer in 1936 and one son blessed this union. Catherine passed away in 1961. On November 20, 1962, Mart married Irene Uehling at the Methodist Church in Creston.
Mart lived all but one year of his life on the same farm where he raised hogs and cattle. He was very outgoing and never met a stranger. His sense of humor was evident throughout his years, teasing family and friends. Mart was an extremely kind and loving man who adored and cherished his family and embraced life to the fullest.
Mart was a member of Instruction Lodge #275 A.F. A.M. of Corning where he was a 32nd Degree Mason; member of the Prescott Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and former Worthy Patron; former Master of Corning Lodge; and member of the Prescott United Church.
Left to cherish Marts memory is his wife, Irene Miller of Prescott, IA; son, Bruce (Maureen) Miller of West Des Moines, IA; two grandchildren: Lisa (Tony) Dirksen of Ankeny, IA and Melissa (Chad) Cribari of West Des Moines, IA; four great-grandchildren: Austin, Mackenzie, Isabella and Cameron; sister, Thelma Tallmon of Clatskanie, OR; sister-in-law, Dorothy Uehling of Corning, IA; brother-in-law, Howard Yarrington of Corning, IA and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Mart was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Catherine in 1961; sister, Faye Marie; granddaughter, Andrea Marie and brother-in-law, Frank Tallmon.
