Marvin Kinne

October 4, 1912 — June 20, 2005

Marvin Ellis Kinne, 92, of Corning, Iowa, passed away June 20, 2005 at Alegent Mercy Hospital, Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was born October 4, 1912, in Raymond, South Dakota, to the late Theodore Judson and Ada Viola Soverns Kinne. He farmed in South Dakota before moving to Iowa in 1938. He farmed in Dallas and Gutherie counties, and continued farming in Adams county after moving there in 1946. He moved into Corning, Iowa in 1951 where he worked in the Gambles store and owned and operated Harmony Bowling Lanes in Corning before retirement. He also founded and was President of the Lions Club in Corning.
Mr. Kinne was a previous member of the Corning Eagles Club, Happy Hollow Country Club, Afton United Methodist Church, and Thayer United Methodist Church. He enjoyed baseball, bowling, golf, camping, travel and playing cards.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Lloyd Leonard Kinne, sister Iva Mae Grimes and wife of 51 years, Marianne Blanche Beauvais Kinne.
He is survived by his second wife Betty Kinne of Corning, Iowa; children Theodore Lee Kinne and wife Marlys of Hertford, North Carolina; Constance Mae Foley of Omaha, Nebraska; Elizabeth Ann Bates and husband Duane, of Council Bluffs, Iowa and step-daughter Cheryl Holbrook and husband, Joe of Prescott, Iowa; sister-in-law, Darlene Kinne of Cambridge, Nebraska; 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
