Mary Cusack

Mary Elizabeth Cusack, the daughter of John Francis and Agnes (ONeill) Moran, was born on September 2, 1902, in Union County near Creston, Iowa. Mary entered eternal rest on June 20, 2011, at Creston Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Creston, Iowa at the age of one hundred eight years, nine months and eighteen days.
Mary lived all her life in the Creston area. She graduated from Creston High School. On February 16, 1927, she married James Francis Cusack in Creston. Mary and James raised their family on a farm northeast of Creston. Mary moved into town in 1966 after James passed away.
Mary was a homemaker. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Mary also helped with the Greater Regional Hospital Auxiliary and Green Valley Hospice, and was a member of the ODO Club.
Left to cherish Marys memory is her daughter, Ann (John) Drake, Minneapolis, MN; her grandchildren: Kathleen McMahon (Tom Hoppensteadt), Centerville, MA; Sean (Shannon) McMahon, Scottsdale, AZ; Michael Cusack, Minneapolis, MN; Mary (Tom) Alexander, Clear Lake, IA; Loret (Jim) McMahon, Nassau Bay, TX; and Pat Haney, Asheville, NC; her son-in-law, Thomas Haney, Asheville, NC; six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Mary in death were her parents; her husband; her son, John William Cusack; her two daughters: Mary Elizabeth Haney and Rosemary Cusack; four brothers and three sisters.
