Mary Helen Templeton, the daughter of John and Ada (Augustine) Hinck, was born on Wednesday, November 5, 1941 in Corning, Iowa. Mary Helen entered eternal rest on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital in Corning, Iowa at the age of sixty-seven years, three months and two days.
Mary Helen was a graduate of Corning High School with the Class of 1960 and obtained her Masters Degree, in Teaching, from Northwest Missouri State University.
She was united in marriage to Ivan Templeton in 1959 and later divorced. To this union, three sons were born: Phillip John, Todd Clark and Kyle Robert.
Mary Helen was a lifelong educator with a special interest in literature and drama. She taught at Prescott and Adair Schools, Nodaway Holt R-7 School District and schools in Omaha, Council Bluffs and Missouri.
Mary Helen had a passion for reading. She also enjoyed working in the garden, bird watching and keeping up with the movies. Her love of cats was well known to all. She was a member of PEO and the Presbyterian Church in Corning.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three sons: Phillip (Jayne) Templeton of Corning, Iowa, Todd (Patti) Templeton and Kyle Templeton, all of Omaha, Nebraska; seven grandchildren: Lindsey (Michael) Hogan, Brandon (Ashley) Templeton, Garret Templeton, Alaina Templeton, all of Corning, Iowa, Cole Templeton of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Collin Templeton and Devon Templeton both of Omaha, Nebraska and one great-grandchild, Cael Hogan of Corning, Iowa.
Preceding Mary Helen in death were her parents.
