Mary Lou Ethington

Mary Lou Ethington, the daughter of Edward Albert and Gertrude (Lewellen) Taddicken, was born on September 12, 1922, in Creston, Iowa. Mary Lou entered eternal rest on January 27, 2011, at the Greater Regional Hospice Home in Creston, Iowa, at the age of eighty-eight years, four months, and seventeen days.
Mary Lou lived her entire life in Union County, mostly in Creston. Most recently she has lived at Prairie View Assisted Living for the past three years. On September 30, 1940, she married Harold Franklin Ethington in Grant City, Missouri. Mary Lou was a homemaker. She attended the Methodist Church in Arispe for many years and after she moved to Creston she attended the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Creston. Mary Lou was active with the quilters group and church activities. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and family and was involved with the V. F. W. Auxiliary when she was active.
Left to cherish Mary Lous memory are her son: H. Frank (wife Mary Ellen) Ethington, Jr., Mesquite, Nevada; her four grandchildren: Brenda (husband Mike) Fowler, Omaha, Nebraska; Kristine (husband Mark) Klausen, OFallon, Missouri; Karin (husband Mike) Cartner, Mocksville, North Carolina; and Michael Ethington, Mesquite, Nevada; her seven great-grandchildren: Brandon and Conner Fowler; Jordin, Alex, and Seth Klausen; Ashlyn and Jackson Cartner; her brother: Jack Taddicken, Boise, Idaho; her sister: Pearl James, Boise, Idaho; her sister-in-law: Mickey Downey, Creston; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding Mary in death were her parents; her husband, in 2007; six brothers; one sister; and one grandchild.
Memorials may be directed to the Greater Regional Hospice Home.
