Mary Recoy

Mary Louise (Graham) Recoy was born on March 23, 1933 in Creston, Iowa to Harry and Wanda Graham. Mary entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at The Cottage in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of seventy-nine years, four months and three days.
Mary was united in marriage to Harold Lester Recoy-Beardsley on January 26, 1950. Mary had five children: Kenny, Steve, Sanita, Teresa and Uralee.
Mary worked as a cook for thirteen years at Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston. Over the years, Mary also worked in the deli department at Hy Vee, the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant, Gits Manufacturing and at the Crestmoor Golf Club.
Mary was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Creston. Mary loved to bake and after her retirement, she operated a business out of her home baking cakes and cookies. Some of Mary’s other interests and hobbies were crocheting, crossword puzzles and watching cooking and t.v. game shows.
Left to cherish Mary’s memory are her children: Harold Kenneth (wife Patricia) Recoy-Beardsley of Buffalo, KS; Steve (wife Beverly) Bubb of Walled Lake, MI; Sanita Lea (husband Rusty) Brainerd of Broken Arrow, OK; Teresa Lynn Wilson of Creston, IA and her significant other, Dean Self of Chariton, IA and Uralee L. (husband John) Bielski of Creston, IA; grandchildren: Kendall Carroll, Conni LuAnn (husband Sam) Werther, Kristy Lea (husband Russ) Phillips, Jeramy Kenneth Recoy-Beardsley and fiancé Sarah Kaup, Rob Lucas Recoy-Beardsley and significant other Cole Younger, Janine Marie (husband Brett) Ross, Susan Renee (husband David) Jinright, Valerie Mae (husband Jay) Johnson, Brenton John Wilson, Charlene LuAnn Wilson and fiancé Justin LeHew, Christopher Lee Brainerd, Sabra Brooke (husband Robert) Viehdorfer, Steve (wife Erin) Bubb, Jr., John Bubb and Allison (husband Michael) Duew; great-grandchildren: Kain, Blade and Seph Fox, Elizabeth and Emily Phillips, Patrick and Lane Werther, Dylan and Trey Recoy-Beardsley, Conner and Allison Ross, Evie Jinright and Mackenzie and Elijah Bubb; her sister, Betty Gross of Creston, IA; her brother, Jerry Lee (wife Kay) Graham of Creston, IA; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold on July 28, 1976; brother, Douglas Dale Graham; brother-in-law, Richard Gross and sister-in-law, Velda Graham.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Pearson Family Funeral Service of Creston with Rev. Tom Woodin officiating. There will be open visitation from 1-8PM on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 with the family receiving friends from 6-8PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Graceland Cemetery in Creston.
