Maxine Thompson, the daughter of James Blaine and Maude Edrie (Anderson) Keefer, was born in Creston, Iowa on May 14, 1916. Maxine entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at the Hillcrest Health Plaza in Bellevue, Nebraska at the age of 92 years and five days.
Maxine was raised in the Creston area and graduated from Creston High School with the Class of 1934. On February 7, 1937, Maxine was united in marriage to Marion Edward Thompson at the Methodist Church Parsonage in Creston. This union was blessed with two sons: Larry and Richard.
Maxine and Marion farmed in the Union County area all of their lives. Maxine was a Homemaker, Farm Wife and an active member of the United Methodist Church in Creston. Although, she never learned to drive a car, Maxine always helped on the farm by driving a tractor and tending to her flower gardens, which she loved. Due to her declining health, Maxine lived the final six years of her life near her son, Larry, in Bellevue, Nebraska.
Preceding Maxine in death were her parents and her husband of 59 years, Marion Thompson.
Left to cherish Maxines memory are her two sons: Larry (wife Frances) Thompson of Bellevue, Nebraska and Richard (wife Anne) Thompson of Strasburg, Colorado; her four grandchildren: Richard Allen Thompson, Tammy Anne Lindsay, Lorie Jean Thompson and Raymond Edward Thompson; her seven great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; Maxine is also survived by her sister, Betty Keefer of Creston and numerous cousins.
