Mildred Milree Kissler

Interment will be at the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Corning with a luncheon to follow at the United Methodist Church.

Mildred Milree Kissler was born December 23, 1929 to Charlie Michael Reynolds and Mildred Cathleen Wallace in rural Adams County. Mildred entered eternal rest on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of seventy-nine years, ten months and fourteen days.
Milree lived her preschool years on a farm near Mercer Center. The family moved to Mt. Etna and Milree attended the Mt Etna School for 8 years. She attended Corning High School graduating in 1947 and was Valedictorian of her class. Milree taught rural school at Washington #2 for 2 years.
On June 19, 1949 she was united in marriage to Hubert Kissler at the Mt Etna Methodist Church. The loving couple celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary this past June. They farmed until their retirement. Milree enjoyed gardening, reading, playing cards and other games and visiting with family and friends.
She was a member of the Carl Methodist Church since 1960 and an active member of the church and United Methodist Womens Organization. She also served on the District Conference United Methodist Womens Organization; the School of Christian Mission as the Business Manager for four years; District UMW offices and was the Treasurer for three years in addition to other offices for a total of eight years.
Milree was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Leland Abbey.
She is survived by her husband, Hubert Kissler of Bridgewater; sister-in-law, Irene Abbey of Bridgewater, nieces and nephews: Mary Fisher (husband Steve) of Red Oak, Iowa, Janet Ross of Farragut, Iowa, Richard Abbey (wife Karen) of Kentucky and Barbara Valdez (husband Richard) of Colorado; special families: Danny and Karen Tucker, Rob and Brenda Tucker, Rae Ann Tucker, Ryan and Lori Tucker, Stephanie Tucker, Rachel Tucker, Erin Tucker, Brooke Tucker, Kylee Tucker, Tyler Tucker and Cameron Tucker; Greg and Jolene Wildin and their families.
