Miles A. Cross

Interment will be at the Forrest Hill Cemetery, Mt. Etna, Iowa. Memorial contributions made be directed to the family of Miles Albert Cross Sr.
Miles Albert Cross Sr., son of Elvon John and Eliza Elizabeth (Robison) Cross was born in Carbon, Iowa on March 4, 1940. Miles entered eternal rest on Monday, December 10, 2007 at his residence near Mt. Etna, Iowa at the age of 67 years, 9 months and 8 days.
Miles was united in marriage on April 1, 1958 to Marilyn Kay Ward in Marshalltown, IA. To this union 4 children were born: Tammy, Terry, Miles and Donald. Marilyn preceded Miles in death in 2000. Miles married Dianne L. Johnson of Waukee in September of 2006. Dianne preceded Miles in death in March of 2007.
Miles served in the United States Marine Corps from 1957-1961.
Miles was a licensed electrician and avid carpenter. Miles attended Westinghouse School for heat-pumps and several correspondence courses.
Miles is survived by his children: Daughter, Tammy Kay Cross (husband Dale) Whitnah, Oregon, MO, Sons: Terry Dean (wife Joan) Cross, Corning, IA; Miles Albert (wife Shelly Freshour) Cross Jr., Mt. Etna, IA; Donald Wesley “Woody” (wife Ruth Ann Campbell) Cross, Mt. Etna, IA ; Sisters (husband): Geraldine “Jeri” Elva Cross (husband Donald) Ward, Atlantic, IA; Atha Elizabeth “Kitty” Cross (husband Bill) Johnson: Nineteen grandchildren, Seven Step-Children, Several step-grandchildren, Six great grandchildren
Miles was preceded in death by his Parents; Brothers: Retired Lt. Co. Patrick Elvin (wife Betty) Cross; Forest Theodore “Ted” (wife Lois) Cross; Jesse Lee “Red” (Beverly) Cross; Ernest Webster (wife Lila) Cross; Fletcher Charles (wife Nellie) Cross; Estell Curtis (wife Virginia) Cross; Maxwell Stanley (wife Alice) Cross; Sisters: Gladys Scellestine Cross (husband Brit) Willits; Lillian “Hillis” Cross (husband Ronald) Simmons; Darlene Clarabelle Cross (husband Ralph) Fusselman; Sarah Lorraine Cross.
