Pat Harpin

A luncheon will follow the Memorial Service at the First Christian Church in Creston. Memorials may be directed to Greater Regional Hospice.
Mary Patricia Harpin, the daughter of Glenn Edgar and May Fayrene (Burchett) Proctor, was born on June 13, 1924, at Burlington, Iowa. Pat entered eternal rest on November 20, 2008, at Creston Nursing and Rehabilitation, Creston, Iowa, at the age of eighty-four years, five months, and ten days.
Pat lived most of her life in Creston. She graduated from Creston High School with the Class of 1942. Pat married Robert Edward Harpin and they later divorced. She worked as a clerk at J. C. Penneys department store and managed the Dairy Queen for several years. Pat retired from Bunn-O-Matic in 1989.
Pat was a member of the First Christian Church and an informal club called the “Lunch Bunch” (classmates who get together for lunch once a month).
Left to cherish Pats memory are her children: Jeff (Helen) Harpin, Des Moines; Jane (B. Joe) Spencer, St. Joseph, MO; Ann Harpin-Sims, Des Moines, IA; Six Grandchildren: Jana (Steve) McLeod, Des Moines; Paige Harpin, Des Moines; Lauren (Brian) Hunt, Kansas City, MO; Matthew (Jessie) Sims, Ankeny; Marlon Sims, Des Moines; and Amanda (LaMont) Harris, Des Moines; four Great-Grandchildren; her sister: Juanita Harville, Minnesota; her Brother-in-Law: Jack Miller, Tuscon, AZ; and five nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding Pat in death were her Parents; her Brother: Donald Proctor; and her Sister: Shirley Miller.
