Patricia Ann (Means) Kennedy

Patricia Ann Kennedy was born August 10, 1934 in Corning, Iowa to Oscar Means and Merle (Caruth) Means. Patricia entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital in Corning, Iowa at the age of seventy-seven years old.
After graduating from high school in Corning in 1953 she worked as a long distance operator for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Des Moines. On January 7, 1956 she married Seaman 3rd Class William D. Baker at Makalapa Chapel in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. They lived in Hawaii for two years. After Bills discharge they moved to Anacortes, Washington. Four year later they moved to Santa Ana, California where Bill could pursue a career in commercial art. Bill was an artist for the Orange County Superintendent of Schools printing office until his death in 1964.
Pat and their three children moved to Corning. She married Edward Kennedy in 1967 and the family moved to Mt. Ayr. They divorced in 1978.
Pat returned to work for Northwestern Bell (later US West Communications) in Des Moines as a Toll Investigator. She was promoted to management in 1987 and was transferred to Omaha, Nebraska as a Business Analyst. Pat retired in 1996 and returned to Corning to make her home.
Pat was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, St. Patrick Alter Society, The House of History and the Adams County Genealogical Society. She enjoyed tracing her family tree, history and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and their families.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Baker; sister, Barbara Johnson and brother-in-law, Larry Baker.
She is survived by her children: Barb (Rick) Supinger of Redding, IA, Carla (Roger) Gregg of Tingley, IA and Bill (Sherrie) Baker of Creston, IA; seven grandchildren: Rachel McDaniel, Ryan McDaniel, Billy Baker, Patrick Baker, Casey Baker, Kaylee Baker and Sara Baker; five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her very special friend Howard (Lindy) Stargell; brother-in-law, Bernard Johnson Jr. of Camdenton, MO; brothers and sisters-in-law: Larry (Donna) Baker of Anacortes, WA, Jim (Verna) Baker of Anacortes, WA, and Karen (Nick) Dubuque of Lilliwaup, WA and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
