Patsy White

Patsy Ruth White, the daughter of Lawrence Dudley and Hazel Dell (Winger) Deacon, was born on December 4, 1932 in Creston, Iowa. Patsy entered eternal rest on April 4, 2015, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa at the age of eighty-two years.
Patsy lived in Creston most of her adult life. She graduated from Creston High School with the Class of 1950. In 1954 she married Monte Coon and two daughters blessed this union. They later divorced. In 1966 she married Donald White and two children blessed this union. They later divorced. Patsy began her working career as a secretary for Arnold Kenyon. Later she moved to Washington State and worked for an attorney. Patsy also worked as the Clerk of Court in Kennewick, Washington. Patsy returned to Iowa in 1975 and worked for Arnold Kenyon for a few years. In 1978 she worked for Wellman Dynamics as an Executive Secretary. She transferred to the Human Resources Department and retired in 1997. Following her retirement, Patsy worked seasonally in the Union County Assessor Office for a short time. For a couple of years, she worked part-time at the Medical Clinic. In 2004, she worked as a clerk for Casey’s East and retired again in 2010.
Patsy was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, was a former Board President, and was active in the church choir.
Left to cherish Patsy’s memory are her children: Jackie Coon, Creston; Bobbie (Ed) Major, Bellevue, NE; Lynsie (Ed) Hicks, Kennewick, WA; and Tim White, Portland, OR; Four Grandchildren: Samantha (Roel) Ruiz, Omaha, NE; Jarel Slater, Kennewick, WA; Tyler White, Pasco, WA; and Isaac Hicks, Kennewick, WA; her sister, Dorcas Barger, Creston; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding Patsy in death were her parents; two brothers: Donald “Jack” Deacon; and Robert Deacon; Three Sisters: Minnie Claiser, Maudie Hansen; and Phelie Seddon.
