Paul Cain, 85, of Lenox, died Sunday, January 23, 2011, at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital, Corning, Iowa. The family of Paul Cain invite you to attend a Memorial Service at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 29, at Sunrise Apartments in Lenox. Pastor Shurmaine McAlpine will officiate. Inurnment will be at West Fairview Cemetery in Lenox at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family. Pearson-Coen-Beaty Family Funeral Service of Creston assisted the family with the arrangements. On-line condolences may be left at www.pearsonfuneralhomes.com.
Paul Vincent Cain, the son of Joseph John and Rose Katherine (Krohmer) Cain, was born on April 6, 1925, in Adams County. Paul lived his entire life in Adams and Taylor Counties near Lenox. He farmed in both Adams and Taylor Counties, as a young man. Paul later trained in Kansas City to be a painter and returned to the area to work for Lencor Manufacturing in Lenox where he painted new farm equipment. Paul also worked as a tractor mechanic at Lenox Implement and retired after 10 years of service. Paul enjoyed reading and read many Western novels and liked to read the Readers Digest. Paul will be remembered for his easy going spirit and his love for spending time with family and friends.
Left to cherish Pauls memory are his brother: Raymond Curly (wife Thelma) Cain, Creston; Niece: Candy (husband Steve) Hamilton, Creston; Niece: Carla Cain, Des Moines; Nephew: LaVerne (wife Maxine) Starry, Enterprise, Alabama; Nephew: Dale Starry, Omaha; Niece: Nancy (husband Bill) Williams, Omaha; Niece: Kathy Curtis, Beatrice, NE; Niece: Karen (husband Wayne) Pottinger, Creston; and several cousins.
Preceding Paul in death were his parents; his brother, Joseph Cain; and his sister: Mary Starry.
