Paul Francis Spencer

Paul Spencer was born to Audna Iola (Brooks) and Harry R. Spencer on April 9, 1939, at their home in Kent, Iowa. Paul entered eternal rest on April 22, 2006, at his home in Des Moines, at the age of sixty-seven years, and fourteen days.
Paul grew up in the Kent and Creston, Iowa, area. He attended Creston Public schools until joining the Navy in 1956. He served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S.Randolph until his discharge in 1960.
On February 23, 1963, he married Jolene Dee Hayes in Santa Ana, California.
Paul lived in the Creston area during his early years. He also lived in St. George, Utah, for twelve years and has lived in Des Moines the past thirteen years. Paul was a 5th generation masonry contractor in the Creston area. He worked with Max Smith Construction for several years. Paul and Jolene worked together as real estate appraisers the last six years. He retired in 2004. Paul was an avid reader, loved to build motor cycles and enjoyed fishing.
Left to mourn Pauls passing are his wife: Jolene Spencer, West Des Moines; his son: Dan Spencer, West Des Moines; Daughters: Robin Spencer (husband Ted Jennings), Oak Park, IL; Stacey (husband John) Bailey, Glen Ellyn, IL: Three Grandchildren: Jacob Spencer Bailey; Afton Elsie Spencer Jennings; and Paul Ryan Bailey; his brothers: Gary (wife Barbara) Spencer, Creston; Brooksy Joe (wife Jane) Spencer, St. Joseph, MO.; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Preceding Paul in death were his parents and grandparents.
