Peg Gadberry

Margaret “Peg” Rosezella Gadberry, daughter of Paul Wilbur and Luella May (Brown) Everett, was born on December 13, 1932 in Castana, Iowa in Monona County. Peg entered eternal rest on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, she was eighty years old.
Peg graduated from Castana High School in 1951. Following graduation, Peg married Clair Marn and five children were born to this union. Clair passed away in 1971. Peg lived several years in Mapleton, Iowa and in Omaha, Nebraska where she worked at Safeway. On January 8, 1972, Peg was united in marriage to Jack Gadberry in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Beginning in 1972, Jack and Peg purchased the True Value Hardware Store from Frannie Mac.
Peg was a member of Order of the Eastern Star in Corning. She loved to play golf and was a former member of the Happy Hollow Country Club. She was an avid bowler while Corning had a bowling alley. Peg loved to travel and she spent many winters in Arizona. She was a terrific cook and looked forward to entertaining family and friends. Peg was a loving mother and her children and grandchildren were a huge part of her life.
Left to cherish Pegs memory is her husband, Jack Gadberry of Corning, IA; children: Claire Jean “C.J” Peterson of Corning, IA, Konnie Douglas of Minneapolis, MN, Randy (Linda) Marn of Corning, IA, Larry Marn of Corning, IA and Kim (Andy) Lundquist of Corning, IA; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers: Chuck (Marilyn) Everett of Sierra Vista, AZ, Lonnie (Sam) Everett of Florida and Sig Sorenson of Omaha, NE.
Peg was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Clair Marn; two brothers and two sisters.
