Peggy Templeton

Peggy Rae Templeton, daughter of Kenneth “Ray” and Edna Mae (Weeks) Keefe, was born on January 15, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa. Peggy entered into eternal rest on February 15, 2013 at her home in Corning, Iowa at the age of sixty-five years and one month.
Peggy attended Corning High School and graduated with the Class of 1966. She continued her education at Creston Community College.
On January 25, 1969 Peggy was united in marriage to Mick Templeton at the Corning Christian Church.
Peggy worked for the NFO in Corning until her son Troy was born in June of 1969. Peggy then became a homemaker until February 1, 1976 when Peggy and Mick established Templeton Appliance in Corning. Together the couple worked side by side every day as partners. The couple welcomed the birth of their second child, Tara in February of 1978.
Peggys passion was buying and selling antiques. She was very involved with Antiques on Main and had a booth there for several years. She was an avid reader and spent many hours on her deck bird watching. She especially loved the hummingbirds, blue birds and martins. Peggy was an excellent cook and well known for her German chocolate cake.
Peggy owned six Arabian horses and was a member of the International Arabian Horse Association; Corning Christian Church, where she was baptized; the Red Hat Society and the Adams County Historical Society.
Left to cherish Peggys memory is her husband, Mick Templeton of Corning, IA; son, Troy Templeton of Gladstone, MO; daughter, Tara Templeton-Viera of Gladstone, MO; mother and stepfather: Edna and Jerry Walker of Corning, IA; mother-in-law, Darleen Templeton of Corning, IA; brother, David (Linda) Keefe of Cedar Rapids, IA; sister, Patti (Clif) Morrison of Scott City, KS and several nieces, nephews, numerous cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Raymond Keefe in 1971 and father-in-law, Donald Templeton in 1983.
