Phyllis Jeanne Mack, the daughter of Helen Louise (Russell) and Bruce Berry Watts, was born on December 20, 1922 in Bloomfield, Iowa. Phyllis entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 26, 2006, at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital, Corning, Iowa, at the age of eighty-three years, three months and six days.
Phyllis graduated from Corning High School with the class of 1941 and then attended Drake University. She worked as a stenographer in Des Moines and Omaha for 4 years, and worked as the Adams County Draft Board Clerk for about 3 years. She also helped her husband, Frannie, at Mack Hardware and Appliance. Mostly, Phyllis was a homemaker.
Phyllis Jeanne Watts and Lewis Francis Mack were united in marriage on July 31, 1943 in Denver, Colorado. She was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church and the Alter Society and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Helenann in infancy; and a brother Edwin Watts.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Francis Mack of Corning; sons, Dan (wife Linda) Mack of Carroll; Bruce (wife Lori) Mack of Oregon City, Oregon; and Andy Mack of Des Moines; three grandchildren; Brent, Cori Bryan Mack; two step-grandchildren, Jessica and Kelsey Grant; two step-great-grandchildren, Ketchura and Asher; brother, Russell Watts of Atlanta, Georgia; sister-in-law, Virginia Watts of Topeka, Kansas and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
