Randy Johnson

Private family burial of cremains will take place prior to the service at the Quincy Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Southwest Iowa and/or the Adams County Shrine.
Randall Lee Johnson, son of Everett Ray and Katherine Johnson, was born in Clarinda, Iowa on Wednesday, March 16, 1949. Randy entered eternal rest on Friday, July 10, 2009 at Hospice of Southwest Iowa in Corning at the age of sixty-years, three months and twenty-six days.
Randy was raised on a farm, loved horses and was involved in the Little Britches Rodeo. Randy was a graduate of Corning High School with the class of 1967 then attended a 2-year business college. Prior to starting his own business Randy worked at Nebraska Furniture Mart. Later, Randy started, owned and operated his own business, RJs Plumbing and Heating for 28 years. In his middle, adult years, Randy loved to hunt, fish and was passionately involved with the Adams County Shriners.
He was united in marriage to Cindy Downey, of Corning, on October 1, 2005 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
Randy retired from the Corning Fire Department after many years of volunteer service. He was a member of the Masonic Instruction Lodge #275, the Za-Ga-Zig Shrine in Corning and the National Guard. Randy loved to golf and was a member of the Corning Country Club. He proudly displayed his 89 Corvette in Parades.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Cindy Johnson; mother, Rose Johnson; daughter, Tina (Chris) Boswell; sons: Andrew (Misty) Johnson and Jeremiah (Lisa) Johnson; step-daughter, Dory (Erik) Clausen; grandchildren: Ashley and Aubrey Boswell, Isabella, Sophia and Cheyenne Johnson and Brayton and Garrick Clausen; brother, Rod (LaVaun) Johnson; sister, Cindy (Jim) Nardini; step-brother, Richard (Sandi) Salen; mother-in-law, Lucille Downey; brother-in-law, Doug (Connie) Downey; two very dear friends: Clint Vardaman and Christi Raasch; his best friend and companion, Skeeter and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Randy was preceded in death by his grandparents, father, Ray Johnson; birth mother, Katherine Johnson; father-in-law, Calvin Downey and brother-in-law, Curt Downey.
