Regina Ruth Kerns, daughter of Frank Charles and Pearl Vera (Daggett) Johnson, was born in Corning, Iowa on June 23, 1924. Regina Ruth entered eternal rest on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at the Corning Nursing Rehab Center in Corning, Iowa at the age of eighty-four years, ten months and seven days.
Regina Ruth graduated from Corning High School and lived her entire life in Adams County. She worked at Turners as a sales clerk. Regina was united in marriage to Tom Reed and one daughter was born to this union, Terri.
Regina Ruth, along with her husband, worked and the Country Club in Corning. Regina Ruth was also a bartender at the Red Bull in Corning.
Regina Ruth was an avid fan of crossword puzzles and loved to read. She was a member of the Corning Christian Church.
Left to cherish her memory is her step-daughter, Wauneta Hatton of Corning, Iowa; former son-in-law, John “Jack” Kelley; three grandchildren: Donna Shepherd of Kansas, Robert Kelley of Texas and Laura Jo Bauer of Minnesota; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and nephew, Richard “Dick” Johnson of Washington.
Regina Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom Reed and daughter, Terri Kelley in 1980.
