Richard Dick Bradley

April 20, 1936 — June 1, 2010

Richard Dick Earl Bradley, the son of Tim and Vye (Fulton) Bradley, was born April 20, 1936, at Orient, Iowa. Dick entered eternal rest on June 1, 2010, from complications of treatment for a rare type of non-hodgkins lymphoma at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of seventy-four years, one month and eleven days.
Dick graduated from Orient High School with the Class of 1953. After high school, he worked for Schildberg Construction.
Dick lived in Orient until his marriage on June 15, 1958. He married JoAnn Larkin at Creston and the marriage was blessed with three children. Dick worked for Purolator when it opened and until it closed, and then he worked at the Creston Hospital in Maintenance. Dick went to work for Gits Manufacturing and worked in Maintenance until his retirement on April 20, 2001. He was affectionately known as Dr. Dick because he could fix anything.
Dick was a member of the First Christian Church, where he served as Elder and Deacon. He was a Past Master of the Crest City Masonic Lodge and a long-time member of the Lakeshore Golf and Country Club.
Left to cherish Dicks memory are his wife: JoAnn Bradley, Creston; his children: Steven (Judy) Bradley, Creston; Susan Bradley, Creston; and Brenda (Jason) Parks, Magnolia, Texas; four grandchildren: Lori Jo Bradley; Eric Bradley; Timothy Bradley; and J. J. Parks; many cousins and extended family including in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church and/or Greater Regional Medical Center Foundation.
