Richard Evans

Richard Allen Evans, the son of John W. and Edna Jane Evans, was born April 14, 1946, in Villisca, Iowa. Richard entered eternal rest on Monday, February 22, 2016, at his home in Corning, Iowa, at the age of sixty-nine years, ten months, and eight days.
Richard lived in Glenwood and Brooks, Iowa, before moving to Corning in 1966. He resided at the County Farm where he helped with the dairy herd. Richard also worked at Innovative Industries in Corning. Richard enjoyed helping with the housekeeping duties at Country Haven, as well as any other roles, wherever he was needed.
Richard enjoyed many activities including bowling, camping, and car races. He participated in basketball and bowling in the Special Olympics. He also liked to follow the lawn mower when the yard at Country Haven was being mowed. Richard also liked trips to “eat out”, especially when pie and ice cream were on the menu. Richard will be missed those who knew him, and by his friends and staff at Country Haven and Choice Incorporated.
Left to cherish Richard’s memory are his sister and brother-in-law: Linda and Grey Wilson, Hemet, California; sister-in-law: Barbara Evans, Hemet, California; nieces: Susan Gill, Sacramento, California; Leslie Fredricks, Hemet, California; Audrey Wade, Raleigh, North Carolina; great-nephew: Blaise Marcoux, Raleigh, North Carolina; and the staff and consumers at Country Haven and Choice Incorporated.
Preceding Richard in death were his parents; sisters: Alice Evans-Salmen; Betty Sargent; brother: Gerald Evans; newphews: David and Robert Gill; and niece: Lori Lenburg.
