Robert F. Montague

Burial will be at the Calvary Cemtery, Creston, Iowa. Military Honors by Theodore J. Martens VFW Post #1797. Memorials may be directed to Boy Scouts Pack #129, St. Malachys School or Greater Regional Hospice.
Robert Montague was born to Georgia (Lee) and Glen Fisher Montague on August 20, 1923, at Wichita, Kansas. Robert entered eternal rest on July 10, 2006, at Creston, Iowa, at the age of eighty-two years, ten months, and twenty days.
Robert graduated from high school in 1942 from Arkansas City, Kansas. He entered the Army Air Corp. in September of 1942 and served in the Indochina Burmese Theater until discharge in 1945. He graduated from the University of Denver with a degree in Business Administration, Education and Psychology. On November 24, 1949, Robert married Dorothy Cecelia Schmitz in Denver, Colorado. He worked for the Quaker Oats Company and Continental Grain Company as a district representative for thirty-four years. After moving to Pueblo, Colorado and Portales, New Mexico, Robert moved to Creston in 1957, where he has resided ever since.
Robert was a member of the Delta Sig Business Fraternity; a life member of the V.F.W. and Elks Lodge; a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus; and a member of the Eagles Lodge.
Robert is survived by his wife of fifty-six years; four sons: Sons: Stephen (Carol) Montague, Kansas City, MO; Patrick (Pamela) Montague, Allen, TX; Michael Montague, Kansas City, MO; Daniel (Kristi) Montague, Cedar Rapids, IA; Eight Grandchildren: Michael, Ryan, Laura Montague; Evan and Emily Montague; Joshua, Maleta and Olivia Montague; Sister-in-Law: Jeanna Montague, Wichita, Kansas; and Several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his Parents; Three Brothers: Glen L., James D., and Gene C. Montague; Mother-In-Law and Father-in-Law; Three Brothers-in-Law; One Sister-in-Law; One Granddaughter: Ashley Nicole Montague.
