Robert Waverly Drew, 85, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2009, in St. Petersburg, Florida. Robert, the son of Waverly Henion and Margaret May (Cadman) Drew, was born on February 1, 1924, in Creston, Iowa.
Robert attended school in Creston, Iowa, and graduated from Creston High School.
Robert served in the United States Army from December 19, 1943 until April 24, 1946 during World War II, and earned a Bronze Medal for Battle of the Bulge.
Robert married Mildred Elaine Stewart on September 8, 1948 in Des Moines and they later divorced. Roberts long-time companion, Margaret Hackworth died in 1994.
Robert moved to Florida in 1958 from Ottumwa, Iowa. He was a Salesman, Real Estate Broker, Builder, and true Entrepreneur.
Robert is survived by one son, Randall (wife Cindy) Drew, Gainesville, FL; two daughters, Debra (husband James) Fischer, St. Petersburg, FL; and Susan (husband Theodore) Banks, St. Petersburg, FL; and six grandchildren: Jeffrey Drew; Christina Banks; Michelle Fischer; Nicole Banks; Rebecca Drew and Teddy Banks.
Preceding Robert in death were his Parents; long time companion, Margaret in 1994; and ex-wife, Mildred in 2005.
