Rodney Longabaugh

Rodney Wayne Longabaugh, son of Solomon Lewis and Helen Gertrude (Foreman) Longabaugh, was born on June 14, 1938 in Nevada, Missouri. Rodney entered eternal rest on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Alegent Creighton Health Mercy Hospital in Corning, Iowa at the age of seventy-five years and six days.
Rodney was a graduate of Spring Hill High School with the Class of 1957. On June 14, 1959, Rodney was united in marriage to Arlene Hill and three children were born to bless this union: Jeffrey, Keith and Valerie.
On November 16, 1961, Rodney entered into the United States Army where he served as a Warehouseman. On October 23, 1963, Rodney was Honorably Discharged and began his farming career.
In 1974, the family moved to Adams County where he farmed from 1974 to 1988, when he retired. Following his retirement, Rodney worked for Precision Pulley and also worked at Cropmate (Crop Production Services) for over fifteen years. Rodney was always available to help his son Keith in his farming operation as well.
Rodney was a member of the Corning American Legion OURCQ Post 117. He was a former member of the NRA, the Adams County Fair Board and the Spring Hill United Methodist Church. Rodney also enjoyed participating in both Corning and Lenox Bowling Leagues.
Left to cherish Rodney’s memory is his wife, Arlene Longabaugh of Corning, Iowa; son, Jeffrey Wayne (Carla) Longabaugh of Bedford, Iowa; son, Keith Alan (Brenda) Longabaugh of Corning, Iowa; daughter Valerie Mildred (John) McMullen of Clive, Iowa; six grandchildren: Amber Keegan Longabaugh, Alex Riley McMullen and Jason Nicole Longabaugh; brother, Steven (Jessica) Longabaugh of Haslett, Michigan; sisters: Kay (Gary) Clausen of Elgin, Illinois and Sherry (Richard) Beem of Casa Grande, Arizona

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law and his grandparents.
