Ruby Konecne

Ruby Blanche Konecne, the daughter of Stella (Dunn) and Charles Phillips was born June 26, 1914 in rural Adams County, Iowa. Ruby entered Eternal Rest on Sunday, December 11, 2005 at Corning Nursing and Rehab Center at the age of ninety-one years, five months and eighteen days.
On March 7, 1934 in Adams County, Iowa, Ruby Phillips and Orvalle Konence were united in marriage, to this union two children were born: Marlene and Reldon.
Ruby enjoyed playing cards, pitch and pinochle, doing crossword puzzles and cooking. In earlier years she worked as a cook at the Adams County Care Facility and helped on the farm.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orvalle in 1967; brothers, George Phillips, Vernon Phillips and infant Harvey Phillips; sisters, Lois Gerber and Velda Goodvin; sister-in-law, Edith Phillips; brothers-in-laws, B. F. Gerber, Don Goodvin, Joe Konecne, and Gilbert Konecne.
Survivors include daughter, Marlene ( husband Bill) Preston of Corning, Iowa; son, Reldon ( wife Kathy) Konecne, Corning, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Muriel Phillips, Beulah Konecne; brother-in-law, Dwane ( wife, Lois) Konecne; 6 grandchildren, Todd, Eric and Cody Konecne, Denise Gepner, Kyle Harvey, Annette Hall, 8 great-grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren; 9 step great-grandchildren; 1 step great-great-grandchild, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
