Sandra Shirk

Sandra Mae Shirk, 57, a resident of Gonzales, LA, died on Sunday, June 5, 2011. Celebration of Life Services will be 2:00 P.M., Monday, June 13, at Pearson-Coen-Beaty Family Funeral Service, 809 W. Montgomery St., Creston, Iowa. Rev. Dave Tebbenkamp, First Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery, Creston. Family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Sandra Mae Shirk, the daughter of Wendell and Pauline (Smithe) Dunn, was born on October 22, 1953, in Creston, Iowa. Sandra was retired owner of Heaven Scent Housekeeping Company.
Sandra is survived by her husband, F. Daniel Shirk, Gonzales, LA; two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Venus Zamora of San Pedro, CA, and Tim and Nicole Shirk of Lake Station, IN; her grandchildren: Lulu Zamora, Conner, Evan, and Dharma; her mother, Pauline Dunn, Creston; three sisters: Susan (husband Greg) Beaumont, W. Des Moines, IA; Shirley (husband Jesse) Schmitt, Marne, IA; and Sherry (husband Donald) Drenski, Courtland, OH; a brother: Steve Shoemaker, Florida; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Wendell Dunn; a daughter, Angela Denise Shirk; a brother, Tom Dunn; and two grandchildren, Christian Samuel and F. Daniel.
A memorial gathering was held on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Ascension Baptist Church in Gonzales, LA.
